THE RICH FAMILY ASSOCIATION
An association of people with the surname 'Rich'
From our Constitution and Bylaws
The purpose and objectives of this Association shall be to discover, procure, and preserve whatever may relate to the Rich Family in America; to procure and maintain collections of photographs, records, heirlooms, etc., relating to the Rich Family; to encourage study and research relating to the Rich Family; and to disseminate information thereon; to support scholastic achievement, and historical museum activities; to erect and maintain suitable memorial monuments; and to acquire and maintain real estate for these purposes.

Who are we? - The RFA was founded in 1965 and was originally for the families of settlers who arrived on Cape Cod in the 1600s. The association now includes many other Rich lines from all over the world.
Why Join? - Joining the Rich Family Association has been the fast track for many individuals to trace their historic family roots. Many of our members have done extensive research and are willing to share information.
How to Join - Membership dues are $20.00 for the first year, then $15.00 per year. A lifetime membership fee in RFA is $200.00. Membership in the RFA entitles you to receive Kinfolk, the RFA newsletter, which is published three times per year.
Who May Join? - The Rich Family Association accepts membership from anyone with a connection to an ancestor with the surname "Rich." or variations such as Ricci, Richie, Riche, Reich, etc.

Will We Do Individual Research?
The Rich Family Association was not established to perform original or individual genealogical research, but will publish family lines in the newsletter Kinfolk. However, certain members may be contacted for assistance in locating specific Rich family lines. This list is published in each issue of Kinfolk.
Many RFA members have extensive family genealogies which are not yet available electronically and there are members who do not use the Internet, so a 'snail mail' query to the RFA Newsletter, Kinfolk, may prove helpful. Write to: Kinfolk c/o the Editor, Barbara Baker, PO Box 142, Wellfleet, MA 02667. Be sure to include your name, email address, street address and phone number. You may also e-mail her at the address below.
You may also post your query to the Rich Family listserv -- The official Rich Genealogy Forum. To subscribe, send an e-mail message to: RICH-L-request@rootsweb.com with the word "subscribe" as the only word in the body of the message. You will begin seeing queries from other list members in your e-mail box immediately. To post your own message, ask a question or answer a query, send an email to RICH@rootsweb.com. The Rich Family Association newsletter Kinfolk is published quarterly and contains news of interest to members. Kinfolk also publishes significant life events such as births, deaths, marriages of Rich Family Association members. A significant portion of the newsletter lists individual family genealogies. The editors welcome your contributions to Kinfolk. Dues paying members are automatically added to the mailing list.
Kinfolk has been published since 1966 and has provided Rich family lineages in most issues. One association member is in the process of indexing the family histories which have been published but it is not yet available electronically.

Back issues of Kinfolk are available for a small fee. A CD-ROM containing PDF files of every page of every Kinfolk from 1966-2008 is available for $40. Contact Betsey Patterson at the RFA P.O. Box to order your copy of 43 years of Kinfolk for only $40!.
The Rich Family Association offers scholarships to college students whose parents or guardians are members of the Association. Details are included in Kinfolk.
